The US page lists 10-oz. 100% organic cotton in a double-faced herringbone knit, a tailored fit with higher armholes, two rounded chest pockets with button closures and an adjustable button cuff. It gives China as the country of manufacture and lists sizes XS to XXL at $138 USD. Of the four alternatives it is the closest in type to the reference: a knit fabric cut as a button-front shirt.
Outerknown Blanket Shirt in Pitch Black
The US page lists 100% organic cotton BlanketWeave twill, buttons made from nuts, a relaxed fit with a 29½-inch length on size M, and chest pockets with button-flap closures. The page calls it Outerknown's most beloved item for all seasons. It lists sizes XS to XXXL at $168 USD, with the compare price matching the regular price. The page does not publish a fabric weight, and the product details we read do not state a country of manufacture.
Marine Layer Pacifica Stretch Twill Overshirt in Olive
The US page lists a 310 GSM fabric in 80% organic cotton and 20% polyester, a standard fit and China as the country of manufacture. Sizes run Small, Medium, Marge, Large, Larger, Extra Large and 2XL; the page explains Marge as M/L and Larger as L/XL for people between sizes. It lists $168 USD, with the compare price matching the regular price. The product text does not describe pockets, so check the photos.
1ABEL Overshirt · Stone
Our catalog lists 12 oz brushed cotton twill, garment-dyed (12 oz / 410 GSM), Portugal manufacture and sizes XS, S, M, L, XL at $165 USD. Two chest pockets with flaps, corozo nut buttons, side-vented hem. Fits relaxed through the body with room over a long-sleeve. These are our own declared specifications. They do not establish that it fits, stretches or feels like the Legend's knit, and you cannot buy it today: it is open for waitlist interest only.
Read the fibre content first. The Legend is the only one of the five listed with elastane. The other four are cotton-led: 100% organic cotton at Taylor Stitch and Outerknown, 80% organic cotton at Marine Layer and 12 oz brushed cotton twill, garment-dyed in our catalog. Marine Layer calls its twill extremely stretchy without listing elastane. If stretch is the reason you wear the Legend, check the label of any alternative before the price.
Read the weights with their units. Taylor Stitch publishes 10-oz., Marine Layer publishes 310 GSM and our catalog lists 12 oz / 410 GSM. Faherty and Outerknown give no weight figure on the pages checked. Compare figures only where the unit matches, and keep a knit apart from a twill. Weight describes fabric mass per area. It does not tell you how a shirt will fit, feel or last.
Compare fit with measurements. Faherty gives a 29¾-inch front length on size M and Outerknown a 29½-inch length on size M. Lay a shirt you already like flat and note chest width, shoulder width, body length and sleeve length. "Classic" at Faherty, "tailored" at Taylor Stitch, "relaxed" at Outerknown, "standard" at Marine Layer and "fits relaxed through the body with room over a long-sleeve" in our catalog are five different patterns.
