This guide uses one reference: the Carhartt Loose Fit Heavyweight Short-Sleeve Pocket T-Shirt, style K87, in Carhartt Brown. Its official US page lists 100% cotton jersey knit, a loose fit through the chest and shoulders and a left-chest pocket with a sewn-on Carhartt patch, at $19.99 to $24.99 USD depending on size. The page does not publish a fabric weight figure. The four alternatives are the Dickies Heavyweight Short Sleeve Pocket T-Shirt, the Carhartt WIP S/S Pocket T-Shirt, the Buck Mason Field-Spec Cotton Heavy Tee and the 1ABEL Tee. Each row names one product, because fabric and fit change from model to model inside every brand.

Dickies Heavyweight Short Sleeve Pocket T-Shirt in White
The US page lists 6.75 oz. 100% cotton jersey, a relaxed fit, a chest pocket with a pencil divider, a tagless back label and taped seams, and gives the origin as imported. White was listed at $16.99 USD in regular sizes and $19.99 USD in tall sizes. Of the five models here it is the closest in type to the reference: a cotton work T-shirt with a chest pocket.
Carhartt WIP S/S Pocket T-Shirt in Black
The US Carhartt WIP store lists 100% cotton single jersey at 190 g/sqm, a regular fit and a chest pocket finished with a woven Carhartt WIP square label, in sizes XS to XXL at $45.00 USD. The page says it fits true to size and points you to a separate Work Pocket T-Shirt if you prefer a boxy, loose fit. It is sold through its own store, not on carhartt.com.
Buck Mason Field-Spec Cotton Heavy Tee in White
The US page lists 100% cotton and a Classic fit, and calls it the heaviest tee Buck Mason makes. It is listed at $62 USD in sizes XS to XXL with Standard and Tall lengths. The page does not publish a fabric weight figure, and it describes no pocket, logo or graphic.
1ABEL Tee
Our catalog lists 220 gsm ringspun cotton, garment-dyed, Portugal manufacture and sizes XS, S, M, L, XL at $75 USD. Boxy through the chest with a dropped shoulder. Ribbed crew neck and side-seamed construction. These are our own declared specifications. They do not establish that it fits or wears like the K87, the catalog record lists no chest pocket, and you cannot buy it today: it is open for waitlist interest only.
Read the weights with their units. Dickies publishes 6.75 oz., Carhartt WIP publishes 190 g/sqm and our catalog lists 220 GSM. Carhartt and Buck Mason both use the word heavy without giving a number on the pages checked. Compare figures only where the unit matches. Weight describes fabric mass per area. It does not tell you how a T-shirt will fit, feel or last.
Compare fit with measurements. Lay a T-shirt you already like flat and note chest width, shoulder width, body length and sleeve length. "Loose" at Carhartt, "relaxed" at Dickies, "regular" at Carhartt WIP, "Classic" at Buck Mason and "boxy" in our catalog are five different patterns. The Carhartt page itself suggests sizing down if too much loose fabric is a concern.
