Capsule 06 — the back half of summer

Capsule 06 was supposed to be eight pieces. It ended up at nine because the long-sleeve in Stone refused to go away. Every fitting it came back. Every styling shot the studio kept reaching for it. So it stayed.

The mood for this pressing started somewhere in late February — a long warm afternoon, a stone wall, linen drying in the breeze. The kind of light that's honest rather than theatrical. We wanted a wardrobe that could live in that light: cotton with weight, twill with structure, colors that warm slightly as the day goes on.

The colorways

The whole capsule sits in three anchor colors — Stone, Ecru, and Olive — with two of the cooler tones (Sand, Mist) cycling in across the same pieces. Stone reads warmer than oatmeal and cooler than camel. Ecru reads cream in soft light and slightly peach in afternoon. Olive grounds both.

You can wear any two pieces together and they look intentional. That's the system working.

The fabrics

The overshirt is 12 oz heavyweight cotton twill, garment-dyed and washed twice before it shipped. The crewneck is 420 GSM loopback cotton fleece. The sweats are 320 GSM enzyme-washed French terry. The tee is 220 GSM ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed in small batches. The long-sleeve is 260 GSM heavyweight cotton. The thermal is 200 GSM waffle-knit. Every piece feels like it has weight on the hanger.

What we left out

A linen shirt. We made three samples and none of them sat the way we wanted. Linen is unforgiving — it wants to drape, not hold. Stone twill does what we wanted linen to do, so we ran twill instead. Maybe Capsule 07.

A puffer. We sell one and it's beautiful, but the back half of summer isn't a puffer moment. We'll re-press the puffer for Solstice in December.

How to wear it

Overshirt in Stone over the Ecru tee with the Stone sweats — an all-cream-leaning look for warm afternoons. Olive crewneck under the Stone overshirt for cooler mornings. Tee and shorts for the hottest days. Long-sleeve alone when the breeze comes in.

That's the system. Nine pieces. Mornings stop being a decision.
