Four True Classic alternatives, compared by what each tee page publishes.
If you like the True Classic tee, start with the one detail you want to change: the cotton and polyester blend, the fitted cut, the fabric weight or the way it is sold. Two of these tees keep a similar blend, three are all cotton, and only three publish a weight. Use the named models and official sources below, then compare garment measurements before you choose.
This guide uses one reference: the True Classic Classic Crew Neck in black. Its official page lists a 60% combed ringspun cotton and 40% polyester jersey, calls the cut contemporary and athletic, and does not publish a fabric weight. The four alternatives are the 1ABEL Tee, the Fresh Clean Threads Black Crew Neck, the Buck Mason Field-Spec Cotton Heavy Tee and the Asket T-Shirt. Each row names one product, not a whole brand.
Published by 1abel. We sell one of these alternatives; this is a comparison of published specifications, not an independent wear test. Sources and listed prices were checked on 13 October 2026. Prices stay in the currency each official page lists, exclude delivery, taxes and promotions, and are not ranked against each other. 1ABEL details are our own catalog record. 1ABEL is currently waitlist-only until Capsule 3 opens on 11.11.2026.
- 01Reference model, True Classic Classic Crew Neck in black: the official page lists 60% combed ringspun cotton and 40% polyester jersey, describes a fitted crew neck with a contemporary, athletic cut, and mentions a screen-printed tag inside the neck. It does not publish a fabric weight. The listed price is $34.99 for a single tee on the United States store, with 3, 6 and 10 packs offered on the same page.
- 021ABEL Tee: our catalog record lists 220 gsm ringspun cotton, garment-dyed, 220 GSM, made in Portugal, at $75 USD for a single tee. Boxy through the chest with a dropped shoulder. Ribbed crew neck and side-seamed construction. Listed sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL. That is a different cut and fibre content from the reference, not a matching one, and it is waitlist-only until Capsule 3 opens on 11.11.2026.
- 03Fresh Clean Threads Black Crew Neck: the official page lists 60% cotton and 40% polyester under the fabric name StratuSoft, the same blend ratio the True Classic page gives. It mentions a side seam, sizes S to 4XL and three lengths: Short, Regular and Tall. It does not publish a fabric weight. The listed price is $23.00 USD for a single tee, with a 6-pack listed separately. The page said this colour was being restocked when we checked.
- 04Buck Mason Field-Spec Cotton Heavy Tee: the official page lists 100% cotton and 310 GSM cotton jersey, and describes the fit as classic, "not too tight, not too loose". It gives the origin as imported and does not describe a logo or pocket. The listed price is $62 for a single tee. The page shows a dollar sign without a currency code.
- 05Asket The T-Shirt in white: the official page lists 100% organic cotton at 180 GSM and calls it a midweight jersey with a straight-cut fit. It comes in sizes XS to XXL and three lengths: Short, Regular and Long. The page says it is milled, cut and sewn in Portugal. The listed price is 65 USD for a single tee.
- 06A blend ratio is the clearest published difference. Two of these tees list 60% cotton with 40% polyester and three list all cotton. That tells you what the fabric is made of. It does not tell you how any of them will feel, wear or wash, and this page does not claim to.
- 07Fabric weight is only comparable where a brand publishes it. Buck Mason lists 310 GSM, the 1ABEL catalog lists the tee at 220 GSM and Asket lists 180 GSM. True Classic and Fresh Clean Threads do not publish a weight on the pages we read, so we have left those cells as not published instead of estimating.
- 08Compare like with like on price. A single tee and a multipack are different purchases, so check the per-order total for the quantity you want, in your own currency and delivery destination, at checkout. The prices here are list prices on the checked pages and do not include discount codes or member pricing.

What is a good alternative to True Classic?
It depends on what you want to change. Fresh Clean Threads lists the same 60% cotton and 40% polyester ratio. Buck Mason, Asket and 1ABEL list all-cotton tees with published weights of 310 GSM, 180 GSM and 220 GSM. Use the table as a shortlist, then compare measurements and your delivered total.
What brands are like True Classic?
This guide compares four: 1ABEL, Fresh Clean Threads, Buck Mason and Asket. All sell plain crew-neck tees, but the similarity is partial. Fibre content, cut, published weight and the way each tee is sold differ across the named products.
What are True Classic tees made of?
The Classic Crew Neck page we checked on 13 October 2026 lists 60% combed ringspun cotton and 40% polyester jersey. That applies to the named product. Other True Classic styles may use different fabrics, so check the exact listing.
Is there a True Classic dupe?
These are distinct products from different brands, and this guide does not claim an exact replica or a matching fit. Fresh Clean Threads publishes the same blend ratio, but neither page publishes a fabric weight, so the two cannot be matched on paper. Decide which features matter and inspect the exact garment.
How heavy is a True Classic tee?
The Classic Crew Neck page we read does not publish a fabric weight in GSM or ounces, so we have not listed one. Of the tees here, Buck Mason publishes 310 GSM, Asket 180 GSM and the 1ABEL catalog 220 GSM. A weight figure describes fabric mass per area, not comfort or lifespan.
How does the True Classic fit differ from a boxy tee?
True Classic describes its Classic Crew Neck as fitted with a contemporary, athletic cut. The 1ABEL catalog describes its tee this way: Boxy through the chest with a dropped shoulder. Ribbed crew neck and side-seamed construction. Those are different shapes by description. Compare chest width, shoulder width and body length for your size before choosing.
Which True Classic alternative costs less?
We have not ranked them. The checked pages list single tees at $34.99, $23.00 USD, $62, 65 USD and $75 USD, and two brands also sell multipacks. Compare the total for the quantity you want, in one currency and to your address, including delivery and tax.
Where can you buy these alternatives?
Each source link leads to the brand's official product page, where you can check sizes, delivery and returns. The Fresh Clean Threads page said its black crew neck was being restocked when we checked. The 1ABEL link leads to a waitlist: 1ABEL is waitlist-only until Capsule 3 opens on 11.11.2026, and joining does not place an order or reserve stock.
